Pine Creek Trail is a hiking and backpacking trail near Livingston Montana. It follows Pine Creek, passes by Pine Creek Falls, and terminates at Pine Creek Lake. The trail is 4.5 miles long from the trailhead to the lake, and has 3470 feet of elevation gain over the length of the trail. It is a well frequented backpacking and fishing destination.

Pine Creek Lake was beautiful. And cold. @mypictograph got it in his mind that he was going to attempt to swim in it. I suggested he try wading first. After about 30 seconds he was unable to feel anything below the knees, thus he decided against it.
A young couple who had camped here for the night gave us some left-over Cutthroat trout they had just caught and roasted in the coals of a nearby fire. It was some of the most delicious fish we have tasted in a long time.
