Black Beach, true to its name. This black sand is quite "rare in this part of the world....most commonly found in areas of volcanic activity. The black sand at Black Beach is most likely caused by the presence of magnetite within the dark sedimentary rocks." So interesting to see - brought some home with us in a little baggie.
From here we could have walked back to our car the way we came but we opted for the shorter (less pretty) route on a road. For a total hike of about 9 km.
