First ski of the season. One month earlier than last year. Yeah baby!!
Having discovery the gem of Saint Donat we plan to return to this area often this winter to ski. Today’s plan was to ski a hiking trail up Mont Sourire and Montagne du Carcan and visit refuge la chouette but there wasn’t enough snow to fully cover all the rocks etc.
We were disappointed but undaunted and headed into town (Saint Donat) to ski the groomed trails from Parc des Pionniers.
We are still in awe of all the trails in this area. To find an alternative route to our original plan a few kilometres away from our planned destination, what a gift.
Soon we’ll head into the mountains on skis, just need a bit more snow to cover those rocks. For today we enjoyed the flatter and snow covered trails closer to town.
