I fell on the trail and took this photo in part so I could see where the blood was coming from on my face. I was going downhill, not too steep, lost control somehow and went down face first with my 25+ lb driving my chest into the ground.
My face plowed into the snow, my glasses were miraculously still in one piece (I had to fix a bent nose piece). The snow scratched my nose and bruised my forehead, and my tooth cut my inner bottom lip (minor).
More uncomfortable was falling on my hard camera, hanging under my right breast, against my ribs. I didn’t feel the pain in the shock of the fall, but later on, oh boy, it hurts to move (splitting wood when I got to refuge for fire probably didn’t help).
Bruised my ribs on the right side, hurts to stretch, cough, bend down (like you have to when clipping in ski boots).
Also hurt inside of left leg and my right arm. No visible bruising that I can see, but lots of soreness tonight. Will be using that ibuprofen tomorrow.
