Fairmount Ridge trail. Hurricane Dorian had wreaked havoc a couple weeks earlier: my hiking partner and I had to circumvent several huge timber blowdowns.

The trail was quite well marked although a cart track wove through it in a couple spots, confusing us a bit. The AllTrails app I was using was very helpful to re-direct us. https://www.alltrails.com/

After familiarizing myself with the nearest town for buying groceries and gas, I walked The Landing Trail along the Southside Antigonish Harbour. I watched these ducks floating on a log, a Mom and her little girl trying to snag butterflies in her net, met a couple avid photographers visiting from out of province - a lovely flat 4K hike.

On a reconnaissance drive along highway 337- eyes wide open for hiking signs - I saw this one. I went back the next day, along with a lady I met close to where we're staying - as it turned out, the first time doing this hike!
