It’s cooler hiking in the trees but the views in the open are so beautiful.
Happy place. Back in the woods with my backpack - weighing in around 28 pounds, on the heavy side, but carrying enough dried food for the whole trip.
August 17. Got a shuttle from Bethel, ME to Rte 4: at the trailhead headed to Sabbath Day Pond Lean-to.
Such a treat for @hammerhead and I to share this space and time with Stosh.
Walking Headlands Trail, the second Thomas Cove Trail. It's just other-worldly beautiful!
There are the five islands - left to right: Moose, Diamond, Long, Egg, and Pinnacle.
Red Rocks on beach by Cape Chignecto Provincial Park (West Advocate, NS). Close to high tide, hikers off the beach.
Fascinating colour variations on these cliffs.
Out for morning walk during low tide, Derryl (@hammerhead) 'nestled' into Old Wife.
Slick to walk on though surprisingly firm enough here to keep your ankles clean if you were careful. Stosh captured in the reflection of the setting sunbeam.
