Kayaked the opposite direction down the shoreline - final point was Sandy Shore. Plenty of chop to the waves, a rocky shoreline with boulders protruding in many places in spite of a near-high tide. No photos :-( My hands were on my paddle the whole time - this view is from our hike that afternoon to that same Sandy Shore Beach.

Ever the nervous one when the kayaks aren't within view of my campsite, an early morning (very) short walk to check them out eased my mind. Bonus: got several photos of the 'developing' sunrise and even slept for another hour after that!

Finished a lovely afternoon paddle - dragging the kayaks up above the high tide mark was hard work, i.e. through the sandy beach and rocks at low tide - but better than pounding into the surf and boulders!

Paddling our kayaks between the beach and rock outcroppings. Tide was going out; almost too shallow to navigate. Saw - and heard - seals. Fantastic beautiful fun.

Shoreline hike

@hammerhead and I started to explore the Park’s beaches. Today on foot, tomorrow from our kayaks. Perfect weather!

We had an extra day for short hikes after we got off the AT - several with short distances to a few waterfalls. Photo credits to Nancy, showing some smart and very helpful ladder construction.
