In a few months thousands of thru-hikers will begin their long journeys along the Appalachian Trail (AT), Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), and Continental Divide Trail (CDT). We are elated that some of those hikers have decided to use Outsideways as their journalling platform of choice for their treks, and look forward to supporting them in any way we can so they can share there stories.
One of those journalers includes our very first from the UK: @chicken. In preparation for his AT thru-hike this spring, he is heading out on England's South West Coast Path, a 630 mile coastal jaunt. Shortly after starting his journal, @chicken posted his current gear list as a journal entry and told me that the formatting options for making lists wasn't all that great. I agreed with him, and immediately got to work.
I am pleased to announce that Outsideways now supports a limited subset of Markdown for formatting journal entries (and journal descriptions and member bios too). The description for what formatting options are currently available can be found here.
Now, @chicken's gear list looks much prettier.
