It has been a busy couple of months for us, media-wise here at Outsideways. Well, technically no so much Outsideways, but us as a family, as I was interviewed twice about the family thru-hike we accomplished in 2014. Of course it was still an opportunity for us to get a plug in for our latest project, and connect with some cool people along the way. If you are interested in the Appalachian Trail, thru-hiking, thru-hiking with a family, motivating kids, minimalist footwear, and other odds-and-ends, I encourage you to check out the following...
This year a family of eight completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. It has been making some waves in the media recently, and as a result Jonathan Oliver from Outside Online decided to write an article about thru-hiking with a family. He interviewed three families (ours included), and published the article a couple weeks ago: How to Thru-Hike with Your Family.
In May we wrote a review about a great story called Where's the Next Shelter by Gary Sizer - a trail memoir of his Appalachian Trail thru-hike in 2014. Gary and Megan (one of the friends he met while on the trail) now have a cool podcast called Stories From the Trail. I was interviewed this last week for their latest instalment: Episode 18 - Toe Salad
We hope you enjoy reading/listening to these as much as we enjoyed participating in them!
