A Work in Progress: Group Adventure Journals (a.k.a. Expeditions)

As I mentioned in my previous post, we will be embarking on a 2-week section hike of the Vermont Long trail in less than a week. I also hinted at a new feature we had in the works for journaling group trips that we would be testing out as part of this adventure. I am pleased to announce that phase one of that development work is now complete.

We are calling the new feature Expeditions. An expedition is a group trip, where the individual journal entries from each member are collected together in a centralized place. It gives you, the reader, the ability to follow a trip in progress from the perspective of all members of the group. It also provides a way for the members of the expedition to share in the experience together.

We think this feature is going to be really cool, and we have a lot more planned for the future. Things are just getting started.

Expeditions aren't ready for general use yet, but you can see how it works and kick the tires by following the expedition for our Vermont trip here. If you follow the expedition, you will automatically see all the journal entries posted for that expedition in your feed.

If you are interested in being a beta tester for this feature, get it touch and let us know. We would be happy to let you in on it early to get the bugs worked out.
