Sunset on day 2

Supper time. Noodle soup with candles!

Partners. A quick selfie while @toesalad strains snowmelt through a cloth to remove big chunks of detritus. The snow looks so clean when you scoop it but has a lot of plant particles in it. Let’s hope it’s mostly plant material!

After straining we’ll boil for tea or cooking or we’ll filter for our water bladders.

Back at the shelter after about 4.5 hours of winter hiking. Relaxing. I like my purple colour scheme.

Feels like spring hiking in this western side facing the sun.

March 12 and the snow is still very deep here. The trail is well packed, snowshoes aren’t needed, we hiked comfortably in our boots/shoes. But if you go off the trail you’ll be in snow to your hips.
