Day 9 - Took the kids for a day trip to Yellowstone National Park.
Day 8 - The stormy weather on Sunday night brought rain to the valley and snow to the peaks in the Absaroka range.
Day 7 - Sunday brought stormy weather so we headed to Bozeman for a town day.
Day 6 - Hiking the West Boulder Trail along the West Boulder River in the Custer Gallatin National Forest (in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness)
Lots of fireweed thriving in this area of secondary succession. Also in the photo: wild lupine.

It seems to me this is the life for a cow, free-range grazing in mountain pastures. Though I wonder if the bears bother them?
The burnt trees don't provide much cover but they do allow for a great view.
