This proud “canadienne” (aka @celine) is all smiles thanks to lots of puffy white snow, pleasant weather, and the prospect of some slip sliding fun.

Another 4 inches of snow, another post-work ski, and @reneetougas testing out the softness of the ground :-)

The conditions are ripe for a fantastic day of skiing tomorrow.

Of course we had to roast marshmallows in one of the vents. Henry captured the whole day on film, which will eventually make it to our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/c/travelingmel

We are almost to the base of the volcano. Since it’s active we couldn’t go much farther than this.

Hiked up the side of Volcan Pacaya today. Mostly through the woods to a huge lava field.

Our guide, Mono, put “Mayan makeup” on the kids. You are required to hire a guide to hike in the National Park.

There is nothing like being able to head out your back door and go for a post-work ski.

Our home for the next 4 days in the cozy Maine woods.

After a very long travel day, we arrived in Antigua, Guatemala this morning (12:30 am). After sleep and breakfast at the hostel we hopped in a taxi to visit Cerro de la Cruz and walk back into Antigua. Volcan Agua dominates the background.
