Sunset ledge area.

Today’s hike from skyline lodge to just past Lincoln Gap had more viewpoints in one day than most other areas we’ve hiked on the Long Trail before. Wonder what it will be like as we keep moving north and hit the higher mountains.

So many mountain ash trees up here even at the higher elevations. Love their bright red berries

I went back to the cozy warmth of my bed shortly after this. And popped my head out of my sleeping bag, half asleep already, just as the ball of fire that is our closest star rose over the horizon, maybe 15 minutes after this photo.

This was my vantage point from my sleeping bag in the shelter. Probably best cabin view of my life.
