Day 57 - Chatfield Memorial Shelter to VA 42 O'Lystery Pavilion Camp

17.1 miles

The trail is starting to feel like the green tunnel I've read so much about, although we had some diversion today through rolling farmland.

It was warm today and humid toward the end of the day. We saw quite a few cows today including black cows on a wooded hillside that I mistook for bears!

Hiked through lots of easements today. The terrain all together was uninspiring and was a hard day for our family. Celine is still recovering from feeling ill yesterday.

We're making camp behind the O'Lystery Pavilion tonight.
