The Tahoe Rim Trail is a 165-mile long-distance hiking trail that forms a loop around the Lake Tahoe Basin in the Sierra Nevada and Carson ranges of California and Nevada.
Day 4 The 10 miles back to camp yesterday were over way too quickly. We ended-up arriving in camp at around 1pm. Because this was a State Park, with designated camping areas, there was nowhere else for us to camp for the day, and so we couldn't extend our hiking any further.
We decided to eat supper and go to bed early, then get up at 3am and attempt to hike the ridge back during the sunrise hours. In this photo, @brienne is getting her water ready for the early morning hike.
Our hike today was a short 10 miles from Spooner Lake to Marlette Lake Campground. We arrived at 1:30pm and decided with all this downtime in camp we'd go to bed early and get up at 3am to hike to a nearby summit the next morning to watch the sunrise.
This early morning plan will allow us to beat the heat and be back in Sparks, NV in time for the D&D game hosted by our friends (the place where we're staying in Nevada).
