Day 12 - 21 March/Thursday - Ice Pellets... We hiked 7.7 miles to Standing Indian Shelter at mile 85.9 on the AT. While hiking, we experienced a little snow and ice pellets while up on the mountains, and occasional rain down in the valleys. By the time we finished cooking dinner (ramen and chicken-flavored rice, we had already accumulated a half-inch of ice pellets on the ground. It will be another cold night of tenting.
