Some cool cave formations

First good look at the beach where the actual cave trailhead is located. The water can often be clear and turquoise, but today was choppy and the sand was being stirred up, so the water didn't look as pretty.

Had some nice views from the early part of the hike. Hiking in tropical heat is so different from hiking in California's dry Sierra Nevada. It's just. so. hot. Instant, drippy, sweaty, hot. So glad we brought tons of Nuun tabs with us from the States last time we went home - we use them a lot here to stay hydrated, even for the kids during sports seasons.

The beginning of the hike over the mountain, to get to the beach where the trailhead to the cave begins. Tickets to hike this National Park trail were 600 baht, about 18USD.

Love seeing my parents get out and do things like this!

The trail up to Chimney Rock is full of stairs through the trees - or you can take an elevator! We took the stairs, of course.
