After a wonderful hike-snowshoe around Warren Lake, NS, Canada @hammerhead vegging out, warming up in 'the Big Red Yurt' - a new accommodation experience (https://cabotshores.com/) which we both loved!

A stop at Halifax MEC on the trip home...

My wish was granted to be able to snowshoe on a weekend away to Cape Breton, NS, Canada. February 3rd our hike on Warren Lake Trail had plenty of snow, sunshine, minus 9C with a brisk wind. Loved it!

Sometimes a trailhead is as beautiful - and more treacherous - than the trail itself. @TheIndianPathCommon is my woods hike nearest-to-home and I usually access 'this' end: car is parked just out of site by the bottom of the photo. Thankfully there wasn't any ice to speak of in the woods and after hugging the left side of the 'ice-slide-road' to access the trail I enjoyed a wonderful hour's walk.

Enjoyed an hour's hike on new-to-me Pipestone Creek Trail, County of Wetaskiwin, AB. Balmy zero-degree, blue-sky winter day.

Such a treat to be with oldest brother Glen and sister Ruth on a short winter hike at Peace Hills Park, County of Wetaskiwin, AB.

We had perfect winter weather conditions on the first Saturday in January. Hiking friend Janice led the way around this large managed woodlot: saw lots of animal tracks and two deer - and many beautifully-shaped Christmas trees of all sizes.
