First day paddle from Eatonville to Seal Cove, Cape Chignecto. Some wind, lots of beauty - made camp on the beach. Little nap before supper and conversation with great paddling mates.

The Bay of Fundy - among other things like red sand-rock and whale watching - has the highest tides in the world (https://www.novascotia.com/about-nova-scotia/regions/bay-fundy-annapolis). When the tide goes out the ocean floor can be firm enough to walk on, have little pools, small ridges, and is usually pretty mucky close to shore. A beauty unique to itself - photo taken by Five Islands Provincial Park, NS, which provides a water tap up at the parking lot to clean off clothes, shoes and bodies before getting in your vehicle!

Parc de la Gorge - Coaticook, QC. Walking from the suspension bridge eventually led us to the river where we could cool off our toes. About 34C plus humidex factor- thankfully much of this walk had a canopy cover! Enjoyed the views with @reneetougas, @toesalad , @celine @brienne.

La chute a DONAT along the Mont Hereford hike. Soaking my cap and bandana in the pool at the bottom was a 'sweet cool-off' treat!

Ominous sky: view from the summit of Mont Royal. Thirty minutes later we were soaked in the descent. All part of the fun with @brienne, @celine, @reneetougas , @toesalad and sister Ruth visiting from Alberta.

Seven of us from our church drove a couple hours - to Shelburne, NS - for a beautiful, leisurely paddle on Bloody Creek. Nature's beauty: dense vegetation with huge overhanging trees, turtles, jumping trout, baby owl with Mama watching not far away, bullfrogs. Peaceful and a few spots to watch for boulders and logs under the water. Spectacular weather. Photo credits: Steven Hiltz

Here's a "finding Waldo" exercise - about a third way down on the center pine tree there's a very vague light patch. That is a baby owl. Didn't want to get any closer for this shot (using my phone camera) as Mama had flown to another tree in the area; didn't trust her in the event of her offspring getting agitated.

Perfect paddle for reflection photos - Saturday's trip to Bloody Creek. Local lore for how this 'arm' of the Clyde River is so-named has to do with someone's challenging paddling experience on that 'bloody creek'!! You probably won't find this name on the map :)

Solo hiking is fine sometimes, but have to say these three-trekking-amigos have a fun time! And know how to celebrate two back-to-back hiking days in yummy style.

Takes two short ferry rides to get to Brier Island - in the summer they are full and running steady for whale-watching tours.
