The regular ritual of water filtration. I am going to seriously miss fresh mountain water when we get back to the city.

Filtering water: several times/day a necessary ‘chore’ .

Morning light at Greenwall Shelter

One of the few places there wasn’t an abundance of water - Greenwall shelter. The little dribble-waterfall was adequate though for my morning wash-up!

@hammerhead @karentogo On the home stretch. The last mile is always the longest. Today we had the famous white cairns of White Rock Mountain/recreation area to keep us going to our destination of Greenwall Shelter.

We hiked 14.5 miles today and most of it was really great except for the hike up and out of Little Rock Pond (ugh). After that tough and boring section we came to a large stand of evergreens after we crested White Rock Mtn. and my spirits picked up. Such a gorgeous section of trail.

Rock garden, part II.

Not far from the shelter- a collection of ‘White Rocks’ cairns and ‘monuments’. Interesting and unexpected diversion in the landscape.
