My mountain man @hammerhead xo - Cape Lookoff Mtn.

I have loved my time out here. Happiest hiking trip for me in many years. I’m hooked, again.

One of the last road crossings in our section hike. Very happy to see that ridge of clear sky in the direction we are headed.

Day 15

Leaving Sunrise Shelter for our last 11 miles of this trip.

Our last hiking day for this section of The Long Trail :( I guess it is time but I will miss it- the friendship on the trail, the effort to reach vistas and peaks, whatever we are carrying is what we have so all we need! Thanks @hammerhead @reneetougas @toesalad!!

There is so much history in this trail. Doug left his mark with charcoal on the underside of the shelter roof 39 years ago, and it looks like it could have been written yesterday.

Our last morning in camp. It is so hard to believe this is the last day already.

Last night wine

Going into Rochester we stopped at the Mac’s Market and packed out wine for our final night on the trail.

Drinking it from an empty olive container that was in my trash bag.

Reached Sunshine Shelter before 2:00 - we decided to claim sleeping spots and @hammerhead @reneetougas @toesalad walked to nearby road and hitched into Rochester for coffee and goodies. Came home with treats and reports of friendly drivers. I fetched water, made tea and ‘chilled’ by myself until joined by another hiker.
