I founded backpackinglight.com in 2001. My home is Southeast Wyoming, and my backyard trails are in the Medicine Bow National Forest. I like packrafting, tenkara fly fishing, alpine climbing, and have a particular passion for traveling long distances off trail without resupply.
Some people like to spend their winter holiday in warm places, heading south. We like to head "up" and spend our holiday in the mountains, which is what we did for a few days after Christmas this year, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.
