The terrain on this hike was varied and beautiful, passing through meadows, rock slides, forests, and meandering along all manner of water features including creeks, lakes, and waterfalls.

@mypictograph has been on the lookout for art inspiration. Montana has not disappointed in this regard.

Brienne was in top form today, and top-style too. She has managed to find that gear again that nobody else can keep up with. It is nice to see that back in her hiking game, as it has been a while since she made use of her hiking super-power.

Yes, the trailhead. My youngest daughter had some reservations today about this hike, somewhat concerned that it would be difficult. She has been dealing with some post AT thru-hike "trauma", but she is getting better.

More fabulous views over Montana's Paradise Valley from the Hogback.

Over the last week or so, I have noticed a small ridge not to far from where we are staying in Paradise Valley Montana. When driving by, upon closer inspection, I saw a trail leading up and along the ridge. Tonight was a beautiful night, so @reneetougas and I decided to drive over and check it out. We left at about 8pm and hiked along the ridge for 45 minutes before turning around and heading back. We made it back to our vehicle just before dark. The hiking was relatively easy, the trail was really nice, the weather was fantastic, and the views were superb. What else could we possibly want for a date night?
